The Bible is not just a single book; it’s a library of 66 of them. They were written by kings, priests, farmers and prisoners. Some famous and wealthy; others obscure slaves. From the Genesis to Revelation, it may have taken as much as 2,100 years to complete.
There are lots of “honor societies” which exist to add distinction to the names of the members - sports has the MLB and NFL Hall of Fame. Congress designates a “Medal of Honor” for heroism. A God whose purposes center on us could either be a cosmic referee, eager to catch us enjoying ourselves too much and call us “out of bounds,” or a genie, making us happier and more comfortable while we await heaven. Either way, we’re glad the real God has a better plan than that.
Jesus came to save sinners: to destroy the devil’s works and fulfill the law. He also spoke about a hunger and thirst only He could satisfy. Jesus said, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
It’s not uncommon for people to realize they never really placed all their trust in Jesus to save them. Even when you’ve given Him all your trust, you might at times worry that you somehow don’t qualify. The good news is that Jesus wants you to be certain you have eternal life. And you can be! (1 John 5:13)
If God has changed your life and given you new hope, it’s only natural you’d want to share that with others. You don’t want to keep this life-changing news to yourself.
